Charlie Irwin, Jr.
Charlie joined Charlie Irwin Painting, which later became known as CIP, in February of 2000. Charlie previously worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Civil Engineer in the Nashville District office from 1993 to 2000. Current duties as President of CIP include day to day oversight of company, estimating and managing projects. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1996 with a BS in Civil Engineering.
Charlie’s certifications include NACE Level 3 Coatings Inspector #41225, SSPC C-3 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for Deleading of Industrial Structures, OSHA 30 and a Carboline Approved Fireproofing Applicator.
Brandon joined CIP in June 2018. He worked for PPG for 9 ½ years, working his way up to Store Manager. Brandon’s education includes an Associates Degree from Columbia State Community College where he majored in Business Management. While being a Manager at PPG Brandon attended Lipscomb University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration Majoring in Accounting. He brings years of Management experience and his accounting degree to CIP. Brandon’s current roll at CIP is assisting Project Managers and preparing company financials.
Marie joined CIP in May 2015 after working at NVR Homebuilding as a Production Assistant. Previously, Marie earned her M.A. in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University and returned to high school teaching at Spring Hill High School, providing instruction in Freshman and Sophomore English. Previous office experience includes an Accounts Receivable position for City Road Child Care in Madison, TN and an Office Manager position for Facilities Planning and Management at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Louisville, KY. Currently, Marie’s duties include Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Louis joined CIP in November 2015. Louis came to CIP from Thompson Station Church where he served from 2000 to 2015 as the Religious Education Pastor administrating three services and Bible Study hours and an aggressive outreach program for 2,500 persons on Sundays. Louis’s ministry now is through the workplace at CIP. David joined CIP in July 2019 as Field Operations Manager for the Fireproofing Division. He was promoted to Account Manager/Business Development in April 2022. Previously, David worked in the coatings industry with Sherwin Williams for thirteen years and in the Polyurethane Spray Foam industry with NCFI Polyurethanes for the past nine years. David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University in 1998. David held the positions of Inside Sales, Store Manager, and Account Manager with the Sherwin Williams Co. He joined NCFI Polyurethanes in 2010 and worked as an Account Manager covering a five-state territory selling to commercial applicators and spray foam roofing contractors. David’s current duties include expanding revenue with existing and new clients through networking and relationship building activities.
Chad joined CIP in June of 2018. Chad has been in the architectural coatings industry for over 20 years. Growing up in a family of painting contractors, Chad was able to learn many skills of the trade hands on. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, Chad started his career with Sherwin Williams as a Manager Trainee. He held positions of Store Manager and Sales Representative until 2009. In 2009, Chad went to work for Valspar as a Regional Manager. His duties included managing a team of Territory Managers servicing over 50 Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in multiple states. His current duties include growing the brand of CIP and building customer relationships with new and existing clients.
Melvin joined CIP in April 2021. Melvin earned a Finance degree from Lipscomb University with a minor in Marketing in May of 2013, where he was also a standout baseball player. Melvin started his career in the paint industry with PPG Industries in the Manager Trainee program. After two years, he worked in the medical field in the accounts payable department before joining Charlie Irwin Painting. Melvin’s responsibilities include Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Job Setup.
Cristina joined CIP in March 2022 after working as a Contract Administrator for Trinity Industries and Trinity’s corporate spinoff, Arcosa, Inc. for a combined 23 years. Originally from Bucharest, Romania, Cristina moved to the United States in 1991 and became a US Citizen in 2004. She and her husband moved from Dallas, Texas to Middle Tennessee in 2018. Cristina’s duties include A/R and Billing.
Kayla joined CIP December 2021. Kayla has worked as an Administrative Assistant and Customer Care Specialist for several years. Originally from Memphis TN, Kayla relocated to Virginia in 2017. In 2021 Kayla decided to return to Tennessee to be closer to her family. Shortly after moving to Nashville, she accepted a position to become part of the CIP team. Her current duties include assisting the office in day to day tasks, managing Bid Tracker, Peer Assist, Change Orders and multiple other functions.
Jeff joined CIP in 2006 as the Commercial Shop Manager. He attended the Graco Spray Equipment Repair College to become certified in spray equipment repairs. In 2022, Jeff was promoted to Safety Manager. As Safety Manager, Jeff works to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to all divisions of CIP. He serves as the chairman of the Safety Committee which is responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety laws and creates policies for a safer work environment.
